O Me Miserum! The Jackal Has Been Tagged

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 5, 2008, 5:21 PM
  • Mood: Sweet
  • Listening to: Beniamino Gigli's "Notte 'E Piscatore"
Upon my being tagged by :iconryuusentinel:, it became necessary that I create a Journal in compliance with it. As dictated by the rules, I am required to list six of either my peculiar habits, personality characteristics, or dislikes. Upon doing so, I must "tag" five other individuals, and inform them of my doing so via use of a Comment. My list is as follows:

1. I am an adamant opponent of the current trend of apathetic behaviour regarding voting. It is a democratic duty of a citizen to vote, and to not do so is disgracing the very ground upon which such dissenters walk.

2. Contrary to popular opinion, William Shakespeare is by far the most overrated writer to have ever lived. One cannot subsist through one day without his being considered the greatest writer of them all, when such is far from the truth. In the wake of greats such as McCarthy, Poe, Cervantes, and Kafka, Shakespeare stands very feebily.

3. Racism. Such is this, and nothing more.

4. The Internet trend of discriminating against American users due solely to their country of origin infuriates me beyond comparison. Indeed, American culture as a whole is quite repulsive, but that does not guarantee that I am as well.

5. I dislike most modern music, entailing anything other than Opera or Classical music. I shall not go into detail in fear of enraging any who so reads this Journal.

6. The obsession of the youth with MySpace. The site itself is absolute rubbish, and that the culture as a whole has become so enraptured by it (I have witnessed conflicts resulting from the site, remarkably) is quite unacceptable.

My tagged individuals can be found at the following links:

As derived from an original idea by :iconthe-reef-shark:.

Orson Welles- Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, Othello, The Other Side of the Wind (to premiere 2008)

Tim Burton- The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Vincent, Ed Wood

Martin Scorsese- Goodfellas, The Aviator, Gangs of New York, Taxi Driver

Behold, I Shall Grasp the Gauntlet

  • Mood: Winter Downs
  • Listening to: Enrico Caruso's "Tu Ca Nun Chiagne"
I have created this Journal entry in response to a challenge by XenoPredDragon, entitled "Truth or Dare". As read, the rules state that, while one may ask the player any question that they so please that must be answered entirely truthfully, the questioner must resign themselves to such interrogation accordingly. As I have made my inquiry, I must now undergo like treatment. Those who so wish may ask me any three questions, and I shall answer them with complete validity. I encourage, in the spirit of the challenge, that such questions be marginally difficult.

  • Mood: Depressed
  • Listening to: Placido Domingo's "Questa O Quella"
  • Reading: "Rainbow Six" by Tom Clancy
It is to my great vexation to have missed two months in updating my journal, but I have been busy in ways that were fully out of my control. I have begun to focus more closely on my artwork as opposed to my literature, but such will soon come to an end. For many a year I have had symptoms of clinical depression. Though they have not, for the most part, affected my creative endeavors, many other abnormalities within my personal life have made them more explicit than ever before. Therefore, I must hereby announce that I will be on hiatus in regards to my artistic work. Though I will not be absent from deviantART indefinitely, and although I may still submit some of my work, my presence will be, nonetheless, severely limited. However, I will continue to (and perhaps strengthen) my frequencies of critiquing and viewing other's artwork. I want to thank you beforehand in being patient in this time of difficulty that has been beseeched upon me.

Listen... Do the Whispers Scream?

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 10, 2007, 1:35 PM
  • Mood: uNF!
  • Listening to: Luciano Pavarotti's "Una Furtiva Lagrima"
Following the infection of my PC with a cornucopia of spyware and viruses, my Internet connection subsequently became deactivated and unusable. Though I had made many an effort to repair it, I became stricken with sensitive familial issues of which I will not dictate here. However, I did take this "opportunity" to complete some writing. Thusly, "60 Broken Bones" is very nearly finished, but my collection of poems has been misplaced, and I have not the memory necessary to recall their contents. I, as you too might be, am frustrated with my constant creative droughts, but all will be remedied in time.

NOTE: I will also be commencing work dedicated in the memory of the late Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti. The news of his death was of the greatest sorrow, and I believe that his legend deserves memoriam.
